![]() 1936-2006 Pictorial Memories Dr. George Patrick Foran was born in Vancouver BC in 1936. He married his high school sweetheart Ruthven Louise Foran in 1956 and they had nine children from 1959-1973. An undergraduate at the University of British Columbia, Dr. Foran attended Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1959. Patrick practiced upper cervical chiropractic in Vancouver, British Columbia, until 2006, with his son Michael joining him in 1994. Patrick was a guest lecturer at CMCC, and a member of the Governors Club. In addition he was a member of the editorial board of the Canadian Chiropractor magazine. His appearance on the Lifetime Television Network Series, The Alternative Medicine Show, along with his articles on technique in magazines and the www.NUCCA.com web site, made him known as the "neckdr", as his car license plate read. Dr. Foran was a past member of the board of directors of the British Columbia Chiropractic Association, the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association (NUCCA), past president of the Greater Vancouver Chiropractic Society, Past Panel Member for the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research (FCER), and Past Advisory Committee member of the Vancouver-Richmond Regional Health Board. Dr. Foran served on the board of directors of the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Research Association (NUCCRA), as well as being the British Columbia Assembly Representative for the (ICA) International Chiropractors Association. ![]() In the summer of 2005 Dr. Pat spent two weeks working in Quito Ecuador to provide chiropractic adjustments at the local hospital and kid’s camp. ![]() In September of 2005 Dr. Foran received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association (NUCCA). He was a dedicated man to his church, family, patients and the chiropractic profession. He is survived by his nine children and predeceased by Louise his wife of 50 years. The funeral service is planned for Monday, September 25th 2006, at 11:00 AM, at St. Augustine Church, 8th and Maple, Vancouver, British Columbia. |
